The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce had to intervene again in a COVID-19 related advertisement. This time was the DJ and model, Natalia Paris was promoting a product based on chlorine dioxide to prevent COVID-19. In Colombia, this king of goods require an authorization form the Health Authority. However, the Health Authority informed the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce that no product based on chlorine dioxide had any kind of clinical studies or scientifically support and that in fact, instead of an authorization there is a health alert with file No. 081-2020 concerning chlorine dioxide based products as the might cause: Respiratory failure, Changes in the electrical activity of the heart, Deadly low blood pressure, Acute liver failure, Severe vomiting, Severe diarrhea, among others. Thus, Natalia Paris was ordered to immediately cease the promotion of the product based on chlorine dioxide and remove all kind of advertisement or comments on this regard.
