Karyl has been practicing law for over 15 years and has counseled and represented local and international corporations/entities/institutions/non-profit organizations and individuals. Matters handled include the drafting, advising, negotiation, execution of contracts, including IP licenses, management of trademark and patent portfolios, regulatory compliance, matters of advertising law, handling of and advice on corporate day-to-day matters for offshore companies and outside counsel for local/international clients, copyright/trademark prosecution, litigation and settlements in civil matters.Throughout her career Karyl has provided several seminars, courses and lectures on copyright, trademarks and trade names, employment law, advertising law, and contracts for various entities, business and social organizations in Curacao, the Caribbean and internationally. She has also served as Legal Expert Dutch Caribbean for an intellectual property research project. Karyl is a lecturer on Legal Skills and Techniques for a Legal Assistant program in Curacao since 2009 and Employment Law and provides in-house training on legal skills and legal subjects for companies and government institutions.
