Bus-ted

Fear not, with just over a week to go until the nation goes to the polls, we'll soon be able to spare you from the political advertising updates.

But not just yet!

We thought we should mention this pseudo political ad from Burger King.

The advert, which appears on the side of a red London bus, says: "Another Whopper on the side of a bus. Must be an election."

Ok, it's not quite political enough to be exempt from the CAP Codes, but this ad cocks a snook (does anyone still use that phrase?) at political ads generally, and perhaps one recent political ad specifically.

The ASA might not have jurisdiction over political ads, but the public and advertisers can still have plenty of fun at the expense of political ads which might be perceived as being not quite honest, decent or truthful.

The traditional routemaster featuring the advert  - and a picture of Burger King's trademark burger - has been spotted travelling around central London.
