PhD in Law (2015) and degree in Law by the University of Valladolid (1995), Business Law Degree by the University of Linz (Austria), degree in Computer Law by the University UNED. Admitted in Madrid Bar. He is Official Patent and Trademark attorney, and authorized representative acting before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the EUIPO in Alicante. Ignacio has been Adjunct professor of Mercantile Law at the University Carlos III of Madrid (2001-2005), and is professor of Civil Law nowadays at the University of Comillas (ICADE).
Ignacio has an extensive experience in Intellectual Property Law, especially in prosecution and litigation matters in Patent and Trademark Law, and also in Copyright (contractual and litigation) and Entertainment where he has valuable knowledge and practice. Ignacio is a frequent speaker at forums and seminars on his areas of expertise. He has also written various publications and articles, at national and international level, and is an active member of professional associations. Important international publications like Chambers, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers, have appointed Ignacio as one of the most prominent lawyers in Intellectual Property in Spain. He received in 2011 the award “40u40” by the magazine Iberian Lawyer.
Ignacio is the author of several academical articles, author and co-author of law books in the field of Intellectual Property and Media Law. In 2015 he published his doctoral thesis Plagiarism in Copyright (Thomson Reuters, 2015).
