On Wednesday, January 19th, the International Advertising Association is hosting a virtual fireside chat with Shreyasi Jha, Senior Gender Advisor at UNICEF, to discuss UNICEF's new report, Promoting diversity and inclusion in advertising: a UNICEF playbook. The fireside chat will be held at 9:00 a.m. ET (which is 2:00 p.m. in London, 6:00 p.m. in Dubai, and 7:30 p.m. in Mumbai).
In this fireside chat, which is part of series of fireside chats sponsored by IAA on "Global Advertising Law & Policy Issues," we'll discuss how to avoid stereotyping in advertising that can have a harmful impact on a child's well-being and development. In the report, UNICEF wrote, "Stereotyping in advertising and marketing -- in terms of gender, race, ethnicity, culture, disability, family structure and many other other facets of identity -- remains widespread and can be harmful, affecting children's confidence, aspirations and health, including mental health."
All are invited to attend. No pre-registration is necessary. In order to join the fireside chat, simply join the livestream here on YouTube.
